RENAISSANCE X GRID-WIDE HUNT

The Renaissance Hunt has chosen such an interesting theme this year,

Witches, Wisewomen & Wizards

Much of the fear and hunting of witches, wisewomen and men, as well as those deemed wizards and sorceresses waned somewhat as the Medieval age gave way to the Renaissance. But there was still a fear of those who lived differently and those who followed the 'old ways' were considered dangerous and abhorrent. The charge of witchcraft in the hands of inquisitions became more a political weapon than a religious concern throughout Renaissance Europe. In England it was frequently used to remove political rivals. But with the rise of the Reformation the rules changed and the Inquisition took on a religious overtone again. However, it remained a powerful political weapon in the hands of the ambitious.

I found an interesting Witch Lore web site. I enjoyed learning about 'Cunning Folk' as those with special magical skills were called. It fit in well with the theme.

A NUTCRACKER CHRISTMAS - Dec. 1-31, 2019

THE WORLDS OF THE NUTCRACKER

Come visit the Lands of the Nutcracker! Once arriving in the snowy field in front of Clara Stahlbaun's house, you can listen to the band at the gazebo, or make snow angels. Then enter the house to explore. From there you can follow in the steps of Clara and her beloved Nutcracker Prince as they visit Spain, Arabia, China, Russia, the Land of the Pan Flutes, the Land of the Flowers, the Land of the Snowflakes, and finally the Realm of the Sugar Plum Fairy! Along the way hunt for 12 gifts (The official Top SL gift and the 11 Nutcracker gifts.). You can dine in Spain, dance in Arabia, shop in China, and so much more.

There will be a Christmas Dance held near the landing point on Dec 19th from 6pm SLT to 7:30pm SLT with music by DJ Ktajdn.
